If you are asking why does my tiktok have 0 views, the usual answer is that TikTok has not shown the video to anyone yet. It is still processing or under review, the account or video is private, it was marked ineligible for the For You feed, or commercial content was not disclosed. A video that reached a small test audience who scrolled past usually shows a handful of views, not a true zero.
If you would rather film than trim, upload a raw take and get the first clip cut free, no card.
This page sorts the zero into two kinds, gives you phone steps for each, and then runs the cost of a stalled video using your own numbers. Timing figures below come from third-party creator sites that disagree with each other, so treat them as ranges. The TikTok help pages cited here were checked on 2026-10-22.
Why does my tiktok have 0 views? Two kinds of zero
Go Viral splits zero-view videos into two groups, and they need opposite fixes.
| Kind | What happened | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Distribution zero | TikTok has not shown the video to anyone | Processing, review, privacy, ineligible notice, commercial disclosure, account flags |
| Performance zero | A small test audience saw it and scrolled past | Hook, dead air, pacing, length |
Check distribution first. Editing a video harder does nothing if the video is private. Clearing your cache does nothing for a weak opening.
A brand-new post sitting at 0 for a while is common. The third-party sites below all describe a processing or review window before a new video gets shown.
Step 1: wait the right amount of time
Third-party sites give different windows:
- Go Viral: review usually takes 15 to 60 minutes. Wait at least 2 hours. Investigate if it is still 0 after 24 hours.
- WhyIsMy.org: processing takes 5 to 30 minutes. Wait 2 to 4 hours.
- Shortimize and NestScale: review can take 6 to 24 hours.
- Mega Digital: 20 minutes to 6 hours, up to 48 hours for new accounts or sensitive topics.
- NestScale and MediaMister: brand-new accounts may get no impressions for 2 to 24 hours.
None of these are TikTok rules. If your post is under 2 hours old, stop here and check back later.
Step 2: check privacy
- Open your profile, tap the menu (☰), then Settings and privacy, then Privacy.
- Make sure Private account is off.
- Open the video and check its audience is Everyone, not Friends or Only me.
Shortimize and NestScale both say a private account with few followers gives you zero views as expected behavior.
Step 3: look for a notice before you assume a shadowban
"Shadowban" is a creator term. It is not an official TikTok label, and Trytagly points out that low views with no notice are not proof of a restriction.
TikTok Support says that if your account becomes ineligible for recommendation, TikTok notifies you in your Inbox and on your profile. To appeal:
- Inbox, tap the notification, View more, review the videos, then Appeal.
- Or open your profile, tap the "Ineligible for recommendation" notice under your username, then Appeal.
TikTok says it may also restore the account automatically. It also says that repeatedly posting unsuitable content makes the account and its posts not appear in For You and harder to find in search.
For a single video, open its analytics and look for "Under review" or "not eligible for the For You feed". Trytagly and WhyIsMy both note that menu names change between app versions, so look for the wording rather than the exact path.
Step 4: check the commercial content disclosure
This is the trap for Shop affiliates. TikTok's Business Help Center (updated April 2026) says posts promoting a brand, product or service must turn on the Commercial Content Disclosure setting. TikTok flags commercial intent from financial incentives such as links and promo codes, and from brand mentions and product recommendations such as demos and "buy now".
If you get a suspected-branded-content notice, you have 24 hours to respond before the video becomes ineligible for the For You feed.
On your phone, before posting:
- Create your post and open Content disclosure and ads (sometimes under More options).
- Turn on Disclose commercial content.
- Choose Your brand or Branded content.
TikTok says the label itself does not affect recommendation. Its internal study of nearly 2 million videos found no performance difference. Leaving the setting off is what starts the 24-hour notice clock.
Step 5: rule out account behavior and glitches
Sources list these other distribution causes: a VPN or region mismatch, spam-like behavior (mass follows or unfollows, identical comments), duplicate or unoriginal content, copyrighted audio, and restricted hashtags.
Posting volume is an opinion area. Shortimize suggests 1 to 4 posts a day at most, NestScale says 1 to 4, and Go Viral says 3 to 5 a week. At 3 a day you sit inside two of those and above the third. None of the TikTok pages cited here give a posting limit.
Quick glitch checks:
- Force-close the app and update it.
- Settings and privacy, Free up space, Clear cache.
- Flip the video to Private, then back to Public, to kick a stuck upload (Shortimize).
- If it still looks wrong, use Report a problem in Settings and privacy.
Shortimize also notes a known bug where a video has likes or comments but the counter still shows 0. That means people are seeing it.
Step 6: if it is a performance zero
Go Viral calls a weak hook in the first 1 to 3 seconds the main content reason a video dies at zero. It lists dead air, pauses, filler words, over-explaining and slow openers like "Hey guys, so today…" as retention killers. Go Viral and WhyIsMy also describe a test pool of roughly 200 to 500 viewers. Treat that figure as a third-party estimate that TikTok has not confirmed.
A raw talking-head take is full of exactly those things. For more on reading your numbers, browse the blog.
Worked example
Take an affiliate posting 3 talking-head videos a day for a $30 product. Swap in your own numbers where marked.
| Line | Math | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Commission per sale (assumed 10%, your rate will differ, not a TikTok rate) | 10% × $30 | $3.00 |
| Hand-trim time per take (your estimate) | 20 min | 20 min |
| Trim time per day | 20 min × 3 takes | 60 min |
| Trim time per week | 60 min × 7 days | 420 min, 7 hours |
| One stalled video: trim time already spent | 1 take | 20 min |
| Re-edit time, same take (your estimate) | 10 min | 10 min |
| One stalled video, total | 20 + 10 | 30 min |
Say a stalled video happens once a day. That is 7 re-edits a week at 10 minutes each, 70 minutes on top of your 7 hours of trimming.
Now price your time. If you value an hour at $15 (your number, not a payout rate), 70 minutes is about $17.50, or roughly 6 sales at $3.00. The 7 hours of weekly trimming is $105, or 35 sales at the same rate.
Re-uploading the same file costs 0 minutes, but Go Viral, Mega Digital and Shortimize all warn that an identical file can be treated as duplicate content. So the 10 minutes is the price of a repost that has a chance of being counted as new.
Use the table to see where your hours go. Swap in your own commission rate and trim time.
If trimming is where those hours go, upload a raw take and get the first clip cut free, no card.
Re-edit, don't re-upload the same file
If the zero was a performance zero, or if a restriction cleared and you want to repost, change the video first. Sources agree on these edits:
- Cut the first 2 seconds or the whole slow intro.
- Tighten pauses and repeated lines.
- Change the caption or hashtags.
Do not use cosmetic tricks like a crop, a filter or a speed change to dodge duplicate detection. Trytagly advises against it.
If a notice says your video or account is ineligible and you think that is wrong, appeal instead of deleting and reposting. Take a screenshot of the notice first.
For the trimming step, this site's editor cuts pauses, filler words such as "um", retakes, and spoken "Clip N" slates. You upload one raw take from your phone's camera roll or your computer, and get back a cut clip. After the first clip, plans are monthly and listed on the pricing page.
Download each clip as soon as it is ready. Finished clips are deleted 30 days after they are made. To skip the trimming, upload a raw take and get the first clip cut free, no card.
